SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police now say the reported robbery and beating with a baseball bat in Shreve City was a false report, and have arrested the man who called it in.

It happened just before 2 on Monday afternoon behind a retail complex in the 3100 block of Knight Street.

The victim told police two men used a bat on him and took his wallet before running off toward the Quail Creek Apartments.

Police say they learned that the robbery was actually a fight among the three men, and that it was the alleged victim that brought the bat.

Police say that man, identified as Haig Kitishin, has been arrested and booked for filing a false police report.
