SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Officials say football fans heading to Independence Stadium to see the University of Monroe take on Ohio in the I-Bowl on Friday afternoon need to remember some game day rules.
Here is a list of items not allowed inside Independence Stadium:
Outside food or drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
Ice chests/coolers
Video Cameras *You may still take photos from your seat.
Firearms
Mace
Knives
Pocket Tools
Straight Blades
Tazer/Stun Guns
Umbrellas
Oversize Bags (Bags must fit in 12″×12″ box)
Laser Pointers/Lights
Temporary banners and signs
Smoking is not permitted
Security will be at the gates to make sure no one has any of these items.
For fans who purchased a ticket online, will call is located in the northeast ticket booth, near Gate #4. Picture I.D. is required.
Also, there are a limited number of parking spaces next to Independence Stadium available for $25 each through the bowl office by calling 1-888-414-BOWL or by going to their website. Cash-only parking lots are available for around the State Fair Grounds and will be open on game day. Parking in these lots is $15. There will be a limited number of available spaces. Fans can pre-purchase passes for the general parking lots for $10 by calling the Bowl Office or ordering online.
Handicap parking is $10 and is located on the north side of Independence Stadium in a designated lot, as well as on the north side of Hirsch Coliseum.
A parking lot located northeast of Independence Stadium, the White Lot, has been reserved for tailgate parties. The price is $25 per parking space. To make reservations for tailgating space contact the State Fair Office at 318-635-1361. Grass tailgate areas can be purchased through the State Fair Office and the price depends on the amount of space. Charter buses and limousine passes are $50 each and can also be purchased through the State Fair Office.
Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
