NEWTOWN, CT (WFSB) -

ATF sources said not only was Nancy Lanza a gun enthusiast, but she would take her son, Adam, to gun ranges.

On Friday, Adam Lanza shot and killed his mother at their home, then went to Sandy Hook Elementary School and killed 26 children and adults.

Police said he had four guns with him. All of them belonged to his mother.

He had visited numerous shooting ranges and he went with his mother, sources said. Investigators have not found any evidence to suggest the visits to the gun ranges were recent.

Eyewitness News has learned that Nancy Lanza was worried about her son. The owner of My Place, a restaurant and bar in Newtown, CT, said Nancy Lanza was there often and had said she was worried about her son.

Sources told us that Adam Lanza was a troubled young man. His family said he had Aspergers, which is a form of autism.

Divorce papers released Monday show how Adam Lanza was to be cared for. His primary residence would be with Nancy Lanza, and if she and his father could not agree on a decision concerning his care, she would have the final say.

Investigators are hoping a business or even a personal security system may have captured surveillance video of Adam Lanza in the days and weeks leading up to the shooting.
