SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A special Caddo Parish Commission meeting will be held next week to find a solution for the people who are living without water on Wells Island Road.

The residents were getting their water from Analytical Logging, which has a connection to the city's water system and was re-selling the water. But the company owes the city of Shreveport tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid water bills.

The water was cut off for the neighborhood on Monday.

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals says if the water remains off for 15 days, residents will have to leave their homes.

Several upset residents attended a Shreveport City Council meeting on Monday pleading for the water to be turned back on.

They were told that couldn't be done.

"Right now, it's been recommended that we turn it over to emergency preparedness and allow them to offer some options as well as have the parish possibly consider bringing in a line that could actually provide services to the citizens that are now without water," said Council member Rose Wilson-McCulloch.

The special commission meeting is set for Monday, December 17 at 3:30 p.m. at Government Plaza on Travis Street in Shreveport.
