Dec. 10th: KSLA News 12 Louisiana Tech Editorial

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. We've heard that since we were children. But never has it been more relevant than when applied to the recent Louisiana Tech Independence Bowl decision.

By now, you know the story.

The Indy Bowl gave Louisiana Tech an invitation to play, Louisiana Tech delayed their answer, waiting on another offer, the Indy Bowl moved on and a second offer never came for Louisiana Tech.

As a result, the Bulldogs are not in a bowl game. That's too bad. The Bulldogs earned the right to a bowl appearance. A lot of people are impacted. The school misses out on hundreds of thousands of dollars in T.V. money and students and fans can't cheer on their team one last time.

But it's the players, especially the seniors, who are the most disappointed. This was their last opportunity to play for their university to appear on a national stage.

Who's to blame? I'll let you sort that one out, but we all need to keep the players in mind. They deserve to be in a bowl game and they're not.

Let me know what you think, I'm James Smith.
