ArkLaTex residents talk about changes to LSU Health

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Many ArkLaTex residents this morning voiced their opinions in the LSU Medical School auditorium to talk about the future of the LSU Health System.

The interim LSU System president held a town hall meeting to talk about a plan to reorganize the hospital chain.

But several people are worried that the plan may mean bad news for LSU Health in Shreveport.

"I'm gonna be honest with you. I don't think they'll get anything from this meeting," says state Sen. Greg Tarver. "I think behind the scenes they have made up their mind on what they want to do. Only way they'll be able to change this is by talking to legislators and try to get something done."

The LSU System and board of supervisors are contemplating a reorganization that would include a merger of the positions of system president and chancellor of the Baton Rouge campuses, along with other possible changes.
