Shreveport police have obtained an arrest warrant for a local man in connection with a shooting that happened at a downtown nightclub last week.
A warrant was issued Tuesday for the arrest of 19-year-old Bryan Stewart of Shreveport, charging him with one count of attempted second-degree murder. Following a detailed investigation, detectives developed Stewart as a suspect in the Dec. 8 shooting of 27-year-old Jawilli Rayon following an argument the two men allegedly got into while inside the Kokopellis nightclub in the 400 block of Commerce Street in downtown Shreveport.
When Shreveport Fire Department personnel arrived, Rayon was found to be suffering from a single gunshot wound to the neck. He was taken to LSU Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
After speaking to witnesses and reviewing surveillance video from the business, authorities linked Stewart to the shooting.
The warrant has a bond amount of $250,000.
Authorities ask anyone with any information regarding Stewart's whereabouts to contact Shreveport police detectives at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
