A 22-year-old Texas woman suspected of being involved in numerous thefts from an Ashdown, Arkansas, Walmart store was arrested following a high-speed chase that led from Ashdown, Ark., to Nash, Texas, at midnight Monday.

Walmart security provided a description of the suspect's vehicle, which was spotted by an Ashdown police officer, who proceeded to give chase. The 27-mile pursuit hit speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour, reaching as high as 115 miles per hour.

Several agencies from Arkansas and Texas were involved in the chase, which ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle in Nash, Texas. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Jennifer Tidwell of Nash, Texas, was arrested at the wreck scene.

Police say a passenger in the vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Joshua Thompson of Texarkana, Texas, fled the scene. Thompson remains wanted on a warrant for felony theft of property.

The two suspects are believed to be responsible for a number of thefts from Walmart in the past five weeks, as well as other thefts in the area.

Tidwell was charged with felony fleeing and felony theft of property. She is being held in the Bowie County lockup awaiting extradition.
