SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport man sits behind bars Tuesday night after police allegedly linked him to a series of armed robberies at a Subway restaurant in west Shreveport last month.

Shreveport Police accuse Corey Cooper, 30, of participating in the Nov. 3 and Nov. 10 armed robberies of the Subway restaurant in the 3700 block of Greenwood Road.

During those robberies, an armed man entered the shop and demanded money from the cash register. The man then fled after making off with a small amount of cash.

Cooper already was behind bars when police interviewed him during their ongoing robbery investigation.

Cooper was arrested about 5 a.m. Sunday after police received a call about a dark-dressed man in the 4900 block of Durham Place moving from yard to yard and using a flashlight to look into cars.

Police arrived and detained Cooper, saying that they found in his possession a handgun with an obliterated serial number. Cooper, who was wanted on traffic charges in Bossier City, was arrested and booked on charges of illegal carrying of weapons, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and being a fugitive.
