Police: Shreveport restaurant robbed twice in one week

A Shreveport restaurant was robbed for the second time in one week Monday, and police say the same person could be responsible for both robberies.

About 6:10 p.m. police say officers responded to Sam's Southern Eatery in the 3500 block of Jewella Avenue to a call that a man armed with a handgun had entered the building.

Police say the man jumped the counter and demanded money from the clerk. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber left in what was described as a dark blue mini-van, possibly a Dodge.

The man is described as standing 5'6" to 5'9" and weighing about 170 pounds. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans. He was armed with a black, semi-automatic pistol.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
