Shreveport restaurant robbed, SPD searches for suspects

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police are searching for suspects in the reported armed robbery of a local restaurant Thursday night.

Police say they were called to Sam's Southern Eatery in the 3500 block of Jewella Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Once they arrived, witnesses told officers that two masked men entered the business armed with guns.

The men allegedly demanded that the clerk hand over money from the cash register. Once they got the money, they fled on food in a westbound direction. No one was injured.

According to police, witnesses described one of the suspects as a black male, standing approximately five feet eleven inches tall, with a thin build, wearing a black colored, heavy winter type jacket with a hood, blue jeans, with a black cloth covering his face.  The second suspect was described as a black male, standing approximately six feet to six feet two inches tall with a thin build, wearing a brown colored, heavy winter type jacket with hood, with a red bandana covering his face.

Investigators are working to identify and apprehend those responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
