SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A woman is recovering from injuries Tuesday evening after she was shot in west Shreveport.
Police say they were called about 3:15 p.m. to a shooting in the 4300 block of Lakeshore Drive, where they found Shameka Washington suffering from what appeared to be a single grazing gunshot wound to her lower left leg. Washington was taken to LSU Health Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives say they later learned that a group of men were in a parking lot on Lakeshore Drive when an argument erupted and at least two of the men drew their guns and began firing shots at each other. One of the bullets struck the victim.
Investigators say they do not believe that the woman who was shot was involved with the dispute.
