SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport woman was arrested on Monday for stealing cash from a local discount store while she worked there, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Deequita Lewis, 28, of the 8200 block of Wildbriar, was employed in the money center at WalMart where she fraudulently wired $6,500 and $7,500 to two other money centers in Shreveport.

Lewis did not pay for the wired funds, and the money was received by her brother and sister with whom she shared the funds, said Caddo Detective Bobby Herring.

Lewis, 23-year-old Jamarcus White and 32-year-old Shaquita White were all arrested for illegal transmission of monetary funds and booked into Caddo Correctional Center.
