Dan and Jackie were Season 5 contestants on the hit reality show The Biggest Loser. During the show, Dan lost 136 pounds and Jackie lost 89. Since losing a combined 225 pounds, Dan and Jackie have become the National Spokespeople for The Biggest Loser RunWalk, and they continue to challenge all Americans to get fit and stay healthy.
“We are very excited to welcome Dan and Jackie Evans and The Biggest Loser RunWalk event,” said President and CEO of the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau Dan Rowe. “Our community wholeheartedly supports healthy living and we hope this event will inspire visitors to remain active during their travels and throughout the year ahead.”
In addition to the opportunity to meet with past biggest loser celebrities, those taking part in the Run/Walk event will receive medals, T-Shirts and goodie bags for their participation. Online registration for the event is open through December 20th, with the cost of entry increasing, as the deadline gets closer.
This event is held all across the country, however, Panama City Beach offers participants the unique opportunity to walk, jog and run the course with the stunning emerald green waters and sugar-white sands of the Gulf of Mexico as their backdrop. The temperate weather and refreshing ocean breezes typical for late December will ensure that everyone stays comfortable until they cross the finish line.
Those taking part in the challenge can go on to celebrate at Panama City Beach’s Fifth Annual Beach Ball Drop on New Year’s Eve. This yearly tradition takes place in the 1.1 million-square-foot outdoor lifestyle center Pier Park, during which an 800-pound glowing beach ball descends to mark the arrival of the New Year. Earlier in the evening Pier Park also offers a fireworks display and family ball drop, where 10,000 inflatable beach balls are dropped from the sky.
