Ex-fugitive gets 40 years

Thomas Dooly, a man wanted for armed robbery, evading arrest and assault on a police officer when he was caught in May 2011 has pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery charges.

On Tuesday, a judge sentenced him to 40 years in prison.

Back in 2011, Dooly was involved in a high-speed foot chase with Bossier Sheriff's Office and Haughton Police Department officers. He allegedly tried to run over one of the officers and fired shots at another.
