SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
The Shreveport Police Department's Robbery Intervention Detail believe they've cleared two separate robberies after the arrest of three suspects.
In the first case, police say the suspects who maced a woman and stole her purse two months ago are already in jail on unrelated charges.
Back on September 15, police were called to the Wal-Mart on Mansfield Road on a purse snatching. The victim said she was in the parking lot when a man and woman drove up beside her. The man started yelling at her, and while the victim was focused on him, the female sprayed mace in the victim's face. The woman grabbed the victim's purse and the pair drove off.
29-year-old Jason East of Stonewall was arrested on November 12 for allegedly stealing a truck in Natchitoches Parish, flight from an officer and resisting arrest. 29-year-old Tracy Thornton was with East when the truck was found and was charged with possession of stolen things. The pair now faces additional charges of purse snatching.
The second crime was the armed robbery of the Circle K store in the 8900 block of Walker Road back on November 12. Police say the Robbery Intervention Detail arrested 23-year-old Donald Hobley on Friday, November 16, and charged him with the armed robbery of the Kangaroo Express gas station in the 6900 block of West Bert Kouns. Investigators found evidence at the Kangaroo Express which led them to Hobley. A further investigation revealed Hobley was allegedly responsible for the Circle K armed robbery as well.
Police are trying to determine if Hobley was also involved in a third Shreveport robbery.
