House destroyed in fire in Mooretown neighborhood

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A vacant house in the Mooretown neighborhood was destroyed after a massive fire Thursday night.

Shreveport firefighters say it started around 9:30 p.m. on Mayfield Street near the Shreveport Regional Airport. When they arrived, firefighters say the house was completely engulfed in flames. They say it more than 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

Firefighters say not much was left of the house. No injuries were reported.

Fire investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.

    Since September, employees have been given three options:  Get the flu shot, get an approved religious or medical exemption, or leave Essentia. At least 50 people have lost their jobs thus far.
