Restaurant robbery arrests to clear other cases

Posted: Updated:

Police say the three arrests made in Wednesday night's armed robbery of an Outback Steakhouse in Shreveport will solve a number of armed robbery cases that were part of a rash of robberies that spanned several weeks.

The three men arrested are Miles Robinson, Tremario Washington, and Halston Smith. Police say the robbery intervention detail jumped into action after getting a call about the robbery.

Moments later those officers and agents were able to make a traffic stop just a few miles from the restaurant and arrested the three suspects.

Firearms and evidence were recovered from the traffic stop, and police believe the arrests will help clear some other cases.

"They anticipate they may charge these three suspects with as many as a dozen business robberies, which clearly is a significant arrest. And we think it's going to have a tremendous impact on the number of crimes that we're seeing," said Sgt. Bill Goodin with the Shreveport Police Department.

Investigators believe the arrests will also help provide answers to robbery cases in other jurisdictions.
