Final GHSA Class A rankings released

Posted: Updated:
THOMASTON, GA -

The Georgia High School Association has released its final power rankings for public and private schools in Class A.

The top 16 teams in each section will make the state playoffs.

Schools have until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday to appeal their point total.

The playoff brackets will be released Wednesday afternoon and the Class A football playoffs for both public and private schools will begin on November 23rd.

Region champions will be moved up in the top spots with the highest points then filling in the remaining slots.

That means region 1-A champion Seminole County will move higher in the seedings when the brackets are released Wednesday.

In Class A Public, Turner County did move from 18 to 12 after last week's win against Clinch County.

The Panthers fell from 14th to 20th with their 6th loss of the season.

Charlton County makes the playoffs despite losing their final two games of the season.

The Indians are one of four teams from region 2-A who are in the top 16 slots.
