COUSHATTA, LA (KSLA) -
A Red River Parish man was killed over the weekend after he was stabbed at a home where a bachelor party was taking place.
Red River Parish Sheriff Glen Edwards says deputies were called to Christus-Coushatta Hospital just before midnight on Saturday. Three men were brought to the emergency room after they were involved in some type of fight at the bachelor party. The home is in the eastern part of the parish in the Martin Community.
26-year-old Joey Dial later died from his injuries. His brother, 23-year-old Andy Dial and 27-year-old Ronnie Alford sustained cuts during the altercation. They were treated at the hospital and released. All three men are from Coushatta.
Sheriff Edwards said two suspects were arrested a few hours after the fight. Red River Deputies caught 22-year-old Travis James, while 19-year-old Timothy Dubois was arrested by Natchitoches Parish Deputies.
Right now both are in the Red River Parish Jail on charges of aggravated 2nd degree battery, but Sheriff Edwards said those charges could change after Joey Dial died. Edwards also said his office is still interviewing witnesses and in the very early stages of the investigation.
