CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Two people were taken to hospitals Sunday when a trailer that came loose from the SUV pulling it led to a four-vehicle accident on Caddo Lake Bridge. Neither suffered serious injury.

Caddo deputies say a Ford Expedition was heading south on the bridge about 2:30 p.m. when the trailer came loose. The trailer drifted into the northbound lane and ran into a BMW driven by Ronald Byrd, 81, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

The trailer continued moving and plowed head-on into a car following the BMW, a Dodge Ram driven by Jamarion Powell, 23, of Shreveport.

When Powell braked, a Toyota Camry driven by Christian Baker, 23, of Bossier City ran into the back of Powell's Ram.

Byrd was taken to North Caddo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Powell, who mentioned back pain, was taken to LSU Medical Center.

Authorities cited the driver of the SUV pulling the trailer, Tony Coffman, 38, of Mooringsport, with "unsecure load," says Caddo Sheriff's Lt. Don Gibbs.
