BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The Bossier Sheriff's Office seeks the public's help as they investigate a cold homicide case that occurred 23 years ago next week.

Deputies say that on Nov. 13, 1989, a 32-year-old female store clerk was shot in the head during an armed robbery. She died five days later.

Juanita Jones was working at the Circle K at the corner of Bodcau Station and Hwy. 80. The Circle K is no longer there but a Domino's Pizza restaurant is.

Someone entered the store about 10:30 p.m. on that Monday night and shot Jones in the head. Deputies say the incident appeared to be part of a robbery because money was missing from an cash register drawer.

The shooter or shooters left, leaving Jones fighting for her life. She was taken to Bossier Medical Center where she died five days later.

Detectives say there were several good leads 23 years ago, but none resulted in an arrest.  They believe the shooter(s) have ties to the Haughton and Shreveport area.

Deputies ask that anyone who knows anything about the case to come forward "so the family (mother, grandmother and siblings who still live in the Haughton area) can have some answers to Juanita's death and the shooter(s) brought to justice."

Bossier Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. Call 424-4100 or visit www.bossiercrimestoppers.org.
