SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Investigators with the Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit arrested a man Wednesday in connection with an accidental shooting that left a 12-year-old boy in serious condition.
Brandon Mack, 33, of the 7800 block of Fairfield Avenue was booked on one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Police say the arrest follows a shooting incident that happened about 6:22 p.m. at a home in the 7500 block of Fairfield Avenue.
Witnesses there told police that a boy had been wounded after someone at his home was mishandling a firearm. The boy suffered a single gunshot wound to his lower body and was taken to LSU Medical Center.
Investigators and crime scene personnel then went to the home and began an investigation that led to the arrest.
