BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Police are searching for the driver of car that was found on fire in South Bossier City Wednesday morning.

Bossier City police officers discovered a car on fire right in front of the Century Link Center on Arthur Teague Parkway, but no one was inside.

Police say they believe the car was being driven at a high rate of speed before the driver crashed into the metal barrier where traffic is diverted due to construction.

Bossier City firefighters were called to the scene to put the fire out.

During their search of the car, police pried open the trunk just to make sure nothing was hidden there. Nothing was found.

Police say they do have the name of the person that the car is registered to, and they say the car has not been reported stolen.

They have also checked area hospitals, but no one has turned up in need of medical assistance.
