Eight local Red Cross volunteers are already in or on their way to the northeast to lend a hand to those in need after Hurricane Sandy. On Monday morning three more volunteers from the ArkLaTex will head out.

The Red Cross is throwing everything they have got at Hurricane Sandy. Jean Lanier, a Red Cross volunteer, has been on standby since the storm hit. On Saturday she got the call. Lanier has been all over with the Red Cross. This time around she is not sure what job they will have her doing but she is ready to help.

"You just meet all these nice people, and we're all working towards the same goal. Our paths might be different. Our jobs might be different but we all have the same goal. That's to assist the client in any way we can," said Jean Lanier.

Lanier leaves on Monday morning at 6 a.m. She is flying out of Shreveport Regional airport. Lanier plans to spend two weeks in the northeast assisting in disaster relief.
