MINDEN, LA (KSLA) -

A Minden man has died from injuries he received in a severe beating more than a week ago.

39-year-old Cedric Kingsby had been in a coma at LSU Medical Center since the beating. Minden police say Kingsby was found in the middle of the road in the 600 block of Columbia Street shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday, October 21. He died early Tuesday morning.

Investigators say after Kingsby was hit multiple times in the face, he fell backward and hit his head on the ground.

Three suspects have been arrested in the case. 24-year-old Roshun Huey and two 16-year-old males were charged with second degree battery. Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper confirms those charges will be upgraded for all three to second degree homicide.

Chief Cropper says they are also talking to the District Attorney's office about trying the two teens as adults.

Cropper says the DA's office is going to review the case. They have 30 days to make a decision.
