SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

On the third day of testimony in the Christopher Cope capital murder trial, jurors heard tape recordings of Christopher Cope from the day that he allegedly shot and killed Shreveport Police Sergeant Timothy Prunty.

The tape was played while Detective Lane Smith was on the stand.

On the audio tape jurors heard the police interrogation of Cope from the day Prunty was shot outside of a Shreveport Circle K.

Halfway through the audio tape, Cope asked detectives if Prunty was "okay", and later asked if he could speak with Prunty's family.

Also, when asked about what happened when Cope pulled into the Circle K, Cope responded "I just got out and fired a few shots."

Testimony in the Christopher Cope trial will begin Sunday at 2p.m. Crime detectives are expected to take the stand.
