SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
The most recent polls indicate some movement among who voters would likely vote for in the upcoming presidential election, but voters here in the ArkLaTex are doubtful that the polls will mean much come election day.
As the presidential candidates visit swing states, voters in the ArkLaTex are headed to the polls and last minutes campaign rallies.
"If the people don't know who they are voting for by now, a quick visit by the candidates will not change their minds," says Jackie Wright. Wright is a President Obama supporter who casted her ballot Thursday at Caddo Parish.
New polls released Thursday by the Associated Press show Republican Mitt Romney has erased President Obama's 16 point advantage among women, but on the flip side President Obama has eliminated Romney's edge among men.
"Quite frankly I don't believe that," says U.S. Senator David Vitter. "I do believe that this race is a 50/50 race."
Vitter stopped by the Freedom Rally in Bossier City Thursday, where Mitt Romney supporters rallied for their candidate.
Nationally more than 7 million people have already cast their ballots, and according to the Associated Press more than 35 percent of the electorate is expected to vote by November 6th.
