SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police are looking for a man they say tried to rob a Daiquiri Express Monday night but changed his mind after confronting an armed clerk.

The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. at the Daiquiri Express store in the 6700 block of Pines Road.

Police say a man walked into the store with what witnesses described as a shotgun-type weapon. That's when a clerk working at the store got a handgun and ordered the man to leave.

The man left on foot, without money, heading south on Pines Road.

Police add that a second man, believed to be a partner of the unsuccessful bandit, tried to enter the store as the other man was leaving. The second man also left after seeing the armed clerk.

Police say the shotgun-wielding bandit fired a blast while running away, but no one was injured.

The armed man is described as standing about 5'7", has a slim build and was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark ski-type mask.

Anyone with information about this case should call Shreveport-Caddo Crimestoppers at 673-7373 or Detective John Jackson at 673-6955.
