HOOKS, TX (KSLA) -

A Bowie County woman is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery after her husband allegedly poisoned her with drugs used to euthanize animals.

At one point, Misty Horn was in critical condition in intensive care at CHRISTUS St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana. Sheriff's deputies say she was stabbed with a syringe by her husband, Hooks Police Sgt. David Horn on October 15th.

They say the syringe contained the euthanizing drug. Since then, Sgt. Horn has been fired from his job as a policeman.Investigators say they are still trying to determine a motive for the attack.

David Horn, 44, remains in jail on $1 million dollars bond, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and another $100,000 bond for deadly conduct.
