SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Therapy and rehabilitation has begun for Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover following surgery to repair torn quadriceps tendons.

According to a statement released by the Mayor's office, Glover has begun an intense daily regimen of physical therapy designed to restore strength and mobility to the surgically-repaired tendons.

The Mayor underwent successful surgery on October 15 and remains hospitalized at CHRISTUS Schumpert. He has conducted his duties from his hospital room since injuring his legs after falling at a local elementary school on October 3.

Mayor Glover is expected to participate in Monday's City Council work session and Tuesday's regular council meeting via conference call.

No date has been set for his release from the hospital, but according to the statement, doctors are pleased with his progress.
