SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police are looking for an inmate escaped from the custody of a private security guard at LSU Health Wednesday afternoon.

According to preliminary reports, officials believe 39-year-old Craedel Cook, of the 3100 block of Shed Road in Bossier City, reportedly fled the hospital in an unknown direction of travel after somehow managing to distract the guard responsible for guarding him.

Police say the inmate was receiving medical treatment at the hospital at the time of his escape.

Cook, who was charged on October 13 for possession of a Schedule II narcotic, resisting an officer and obstruction of justice, was last seen wearing a hospital gown and jean shorts.

Cook is described as a black male, standing approximately five feet nine inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.  Cook has salt and pepper hair with a corresponding beard.  Authorities are considering cook to be dangerous.  Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Craedel Cook is urged to call Shreveport Police at (318) 673-BLUE or 911.
