Shreveport councilman talks everything from parking to street repairs
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Council Chair and District G Councilman Sam Jenkins hosted a district update and informational meeting Monday night at Bilberry Park.
Jenkins spoke of information about potential economic development and enhancement of the quality of life for his district.
Jenkins also gave information on street repairs, and he expressed the need for more urgent and priority status for those repairs.
"There are a lot of things that are going on in the city. I think we had a good core group of neighborhood associations and leaders in the community that came out tonight that will help us take this information back to our citizens," Jenkins says.
He also talked about a new ordinance on minimum living standards as well as changes in garbage and trash collection.
On Tuesday, Jenkins will give an update on 2011 bond issue projects, streets, parks and recreations updates, and the new front yard parking ordinance.
That meeting will be Tuesday night from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Bill Cockrell Park at 4109 Pines Road.
