Burglary interrupted, fight ensues, burglar flees with injuries

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The search is on for an injured burglary suspect, after a Shreveport resident came home to his apartment Monday morning and found someone burglarizing the place.

Police say the two struggled, with the suspected burglar sustaining a head injury during the fight.

It happened at the Kings Manor apartment complex in the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue around 9 a.m.

The suspect is said to have left heading northbound on foot, wearing a blue hoodie and dark pants. He is described as being about 5'9", 160 lbs, with an afro and head injuries from an iron bar used during the fight.

Police say DNA evidence has been collected at the scene.
