SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police have made an arrest and recovered an AK-47 stolen from a car parked at a west Shreveport Walmart nearly three weeks ago.

The weapon was taken from the vehicle of an employee of the Westport Avenue Walmart on September 23.

Police released surveillance video showing man carrying the rifle away from the car, and they say Crimestoppers tips from viewers led investigators to 19-year-old Robert Robertson.

Robertson was taken into custody at his home in the 4200 block of Madera Drive and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of vehicle burglary.

Police say the weapon stolen during the burglary and recovered during the investigation has been returned to its owner.
