SABINE PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
Louisiana State and federal drug agents arrested 44 people Wednesday after a nearly year-long investigation into illegal drug trafficking in and around Many and Zwolle.
The multi-agency investigation, which focused on Sabine Parish because of "a gradual increase in drug trafficking, netted 12 federal arrest warrants and 45 state arrest warrants, Louisiana State Troopers say.
The charges include distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, methamphetamine, cultivation of marijuana, and distribution of Lortab.
If convicted, each person faces between five and 20 years in prison.
Authorities add that more arrests are pending.
