TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) -

Four people are behind bars in Texarkana, Arkansas after their alleged role in a shootout Saturday in which a 14-year-old girl was struck in the chest by a stray bullet.

The teenager was inside an apartment at the Chapel Ridge Apartment Complex about 9:45 p.m. when gunfire erupted in the parking lot. Police say numerous shots were exchanged.

One of those shots went through an apartment window and hit the teenager. She was taken to St. Michael Hospital and later transferred to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, where police report that she is listed in critical but stable condition.

An investigation by Texarkana, Arkansas Police and Detectives led to the arrest of two adults and two juveniles.

Joedacie Smith, 19, and Joshua Kindrid, 18, both of Texarkana, were arrested in connection with the shooting. The two juveniles were not identified.

All four are charged with first-degree battery, aggravated assault, and terroristic act, all of which are felony charges. Police say the charges have been enhanced to include engaging in violent criminal group activity.

Police say they expect to arrest more people.

An investigation continues, and authorities ask that anyone with information about this case call the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department at 903-798-3154 or Texarkana-area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
