Tests confirm Mayor Glover's torn quads

Tests have confirmed Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover has torn quad muscles after slipping on a curb Wednesday morning and falling while visiting Oak Park Elementary.

Glover had an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan on Thursday confirming the diagnosis. No date has been set for surgery to repair the torn quadricep tendons.

Glover remains in the hospital at Christus Schumpert, and according to a city spokesperson, in good spirits.

According to a statement released late Thursday by the city, the Mayor conducted some of his duties from his hospital bed and lamented the fact that he won't be making any public appearances anytime soon.

"The prognosis for my recovery is good and I'm optimistic that I can perform the bulk of my duties without compromising my health,'' Mayor Glover said. "Fortunately, I don't spend eight hours a day at a desk so I'm quite comfortable working from a remote location.''
