KSLA News 12 Debate Watch Party

Posted: Updated:

As millions of Americans watched the first in a series of Presidential debates between President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, a group of ArkLaTex voters caught the debate in the KSLA News 12 studio.

The 20 debate watchers varied in political affiliation, and throughout the debate gave their opinions on what they thought each candidate needed to do to win over the American people during the debate.

"I'm looking for Mitt Romney to win over the American people, he's going to have to show that he is competent," says Reverend C.L. Bryant.

"Who can do the best job as far as delivering their message on point," says Debate Watcher Tom Pace.

The two candidates debated issues varying from taxes, education, and spending. The opinions on which candidate articulated their points the best varied among the KSLA News 12 debate watchers, but many agreed that this debate was vital for both campaigns.

"This debate will in fact launch the campaign of both candidates," says Bryant.

KSLA News 12 is planning more debate watch parties in our continuing coverage of Campaign 2012.
