Shreveport Police say they are looking for a dissatisfied drug buyer who returned to the home of the seller and assaulted him.
Authorities became involved when they were called to an alleged home invasion that happened about 8:30 Wednesday morning in the 4200 block of Luther Court.
That's where police found the victim suffering from "obvious trauma to the face." The man was taken to LSU Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the victim told them that he had been assaulted after selling counterfeit narcotics to a male buyer but passing them off as authentic.
Later, the buyer returned, kicked in the front door and began to assault the seller once inside the home. The beating victim also allegedly told authorities that he couldn't identify the male buyer.
Robbery investigators along with narcotics agents were called to the scene, where police say they found "several items consistent with the sale of illegal narcotics" around the outside of the home.
Authorities continue their investigation.
