Mitt Romney and Barack Obama square off in their first presidential debate of the 2012 campaign. Watch it streaming live on ksla.com, starting at 8 p.m.

It's the first of three presidential debates. The president will debate Republican rival Mitt Romney at the University of Denver.

Both candidates have spent hours preparing for the 90-minute debate. Jim Lehrer of PBS will moderate the debate on domestic issues, with the first half of the debate dedicated to the economy.

In addition to the economy, domestic policy issues like the health care, and the role of government will be front and center.

As the polls show this race is tightening, the stakes couldn't be higher for both candidates.
