Two years ago, Willie Jones was making his rounds on the local talent show scene in Shreveport.  Now the Captain Shreve graduate is on the national scene.  During The X Factor auditions in Greensboro, North Carolina in front of a live television audience, Willie went country.  The audience was electrified and the judges were in amazed with his deep vocals.

Pop music executive and producer, L.A. Reid said, "Willie Jones, you are an absolute original." The shows judges: L.A. Reid, Brittany Spears, Demi Lovato, and former American Idol judge, Simon Cowell all gave Willie the nod and pushed him through to the next round.

Cowell said, "This is why I wanted to come to Greensboro. I prayed we were going to find someone like you."

KSLA News 12's Domonique Benn was able to catch up with the singing sensation and talk about his new found fame.  Jones said, "I never in a million years would have thought I would have been on this show that never would have crossed my mind."

It's been a long road, starting with auditions at the Pierre Bossier Mall.  He was picked to go to the X Factor auditions in Greensboro.  So far he has been a favorite from the moment he stepped out on stage in front of more than 5,000 people during his audition on live television.

His performance was soon posted on YouTube.  There's already been nearly 3 million views on the page and counting.  Jones says it makes him feel good to read the comments. He says they have been positive and inspiring.

Willie is hoping to make it to the final round of the X Factor.  Winning means a $5 million recording contract with a major record label.
