CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
Caddo sheriff's deputies arrested this weekend three people they say were part of a theft ring that targeted vehicles that did not work.
Deputies say the ring has been linked to the theft of six vehicles in Caddo and DeSoto parishes. The vehicles were either carried away on a trailer or towed by the suspects to local scrap yards where they were sold.
Arrested were Lucas Lynn Logan, 18, of Stonewall, Jade Cofer Logan, 28, of Keithville, and Tonya Liuzzi, 21, of Keithville. All are charged with theft.
Deputies say the suspected leader of the ring, Kody Logan, 20, of Keithville, is still being sought by sheriff's deputies on two felony counts and two misdemeanor counts of theft.
In an interesting twist, deputies also arrested another man who was not part of the ring. Tommy Harley Jr., 33, of Stonewall, was arrested and charged with theft.
Deputies accuse Harley of stealing a car that they say already had been stolen by Kody Logan and Liuzzi. Deputies say Logan and Liuzzi were in the process of towing the stolen vehicle when they experienced mechanical problems and had to abandon it on the side of the road. Harley allegedly picked up the car the following day and sold it to a local scrap yard.
Detectives also seek information about a green 1960 Ford truck that Kody Lane allegedly sold to an unknown person. The buyer may not have known the pickup was stolen and would not be expected to face charges if he or she contacts the sheriff's office voluntarily.
Caddo Detectives Terry Richardson and Russell Hicks continue their investigation. Anyone with information of Kody Logan's whereabouts is urged to call the detectives at 675-2170.
