Semi knocks out power to parts of Bienville Parish

BIENVILLE PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Some folks in Bienville Parish will remain without power for the next few hours after an 18-wheeler took out a utility pole.

Just over a 1,000 SWEPCO customers lost their electricity about 7:00 a.m. Monday morning when the semi hit the utility pole on Hwy. 7 at the red light in Ringgold.

One problem hindering the restoration is the utility poles are owned by Entergy Corp., not SWEPCO. They must wait until Entergy crews come in and repair the poles before getting the power back on.

A statement on Entergy's website said, "Because of the extensive damage, more crews are on the way to restore power as soon as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience."
