A Shreveport man wound up in the hospital after a shooting late Thursday night in the northern part of the city.

Shreveport Police say just before 11:00 p.m., the victim and his friend were walking on a pathway between the Grimmet Street Apartments and Tecumseh Trail when they were confronted by a man armed with a gun. After a brief fight between the three men, the victim and his friend started running as the gunman fired two shots at them.

The pair ran to a relative's house a few blocks away, where the victim realized he had been shot in the wrist and knee.

He went to LSU Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they're still looking for the shooter, described as a male about 6' tall and 150 lbs., in his late teens or early 20's and wearing eyeglasses.
