TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

Several stores in Texarkana, Texas have been robbed, and now some store owners are concerned for their safety.

"We are pretty cautious about watching the people going back nd forth in front of the store. And the gentleman next door, we usually watch out for each other," says Michelle Davis, owner of the Cute As A Bug variety shop on South Lake Drive.

Shops along South Lake are on alert after three armed robberies and one attempted robbery in the past month.

"I got a call from one of the detectives ..., and she just called to confirm I was aware of the robberies and I know what was going on," Davis says.

The Family Dollar store next door to Cute As A Bug was robbed September 8. Then an attempted robbery occurred at the Dairy Queen restaurant two doors down.

Texarkana Police say they believe the robberies are related.

"Well, your descriptions are the same. Your methods are pretty close. The way these subjects are approaching these stores and what they are doing when they come in these stores are all closely related. Basically, they are catching these employees by surprise coming up on them," Officer Ed Amelia says.

The only description police have at the time is two black men standing between 5'6" and 6' tall. The wore either a camouflage mask or a white T-shirt over their faces during the robberies.

Both men were armed with handguns.

So far, no one has been injured.
