SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Drivers who use Hollywood
Avenue in Shreveport will need to find another way to go. A 12" water main
that parallels Hollywood broke early Thursday morning, forcing crews to tear
open part of the road and close Hollywood from Linwood Avenue to Bernstein
Avenue.
The Water Department
began working on the problem at 6:30 a.m., which is at the intersection of
Hollywood and Adams St.
Water to that
line was cut off, leaving about 10 homes and one business without water until
the main is fixed, which should be about 3 p.m. Thursday.
The city says
that stretch of Hollywood will remain closed until the water main is fixed.
After that, the eastbound lane of Hollywood will reopen to traffic. The
westbound lanes will stay closed for several days while crews repair the road.
