SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police need your help to identify and find a man suspected of breaking into a jewelry store early Monday morning.

The break-in occurred about 3:30 a.m. at the Clarkes Jewelers store at 4847 Line Ave., where surveillance cameras recorded a man peering into the store's windows.

Police say they found when they arrived that the store's front glass door had been busted out. They also found merchandise from inside the store strewn across the ground outside of the building.

A K-9 unit was brought in but police were unable to find the burglar.

Video shows the man looking into store windows just moments before the break-in. The same man is shown breaking into the business and entering the store.

After several minutes inside, the man is shown leaving the building with an undisclosed amount of merchandise.

Police believe the burglar may have injured himself during the burglary because of the blood at the scene.

Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or Shreveport Police at 673-6955.
