SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

An off-duty Shreveport police officer says he was robbed at gunpoint at an ATM machine early Sunday morning.

The officer, who works undercover, told investigators that he was driving in the 1700 block of Line Avenue when he pulled over to use a nearby ATM just after 12 a.m. Sunday. While he was getting his wallet from the trunk of his city-owned vehicle, he says he was approached by two men, one of whom was armed with a hand gun.

The officer told authorities that one of the suspects rummaged through his car while the other held him at gunpoint and demanded money. Police say the officer was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money, as well as his department-issued hand gun.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, detectives have recovered surveillance video from the scene and interviewed potential witnesses. The two men were last seen driving a black four-door Saturn, heading east-bound on Herndon Street.

The officer, who was not injured in the robbery, described both men as black males 5'4" to 5'6", thin build with low haircuts.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to all Shreveport-Caddo Crimestoppers at 318-673-7373 or Shreveport Police at 318-673-6955.
