$400 offered for info on suspect accused of burglary

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police need your help to locate a fugitive accused of breaking into a vehicle.

The incident occurred on May 31, when police say the suspect, Kenjaquel Smith, illegally broke into a vehicle that was parked at a business in the 2200 block of E. 70th Street.

Police say Smith broke out the driver's side window. Once inside, the suspect stole a purse. Within minutes, Smith used one of the victim's credit cards to buy food at the Sonic Drive-In on E. 70th Street.

Shreveport Detectives were able to identify Smith through surveillance video from the Sonic store. They then got an arrest warrant for simple battery of a vehicle.

Anyone who knows where Smith is should contact Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or www.lockemup.org. A reward of $400 is offered for information leading to his arrest.
